LCME – 8 year accreditation obtained, which is a significant achievement

Dr. Loy – Curriculum has approved Sub-I’s in Ob/Gyn and Surgery, as well as in any other clinical discipline, at an outside LCME approved school.

Simply need to submit documentation for approval. Please reference the UGME website to view the criteria for Sub-I’s.

International Opportunities – Currently developing site for resources, forms, procedures, country affiliations abroad – 51 countries at this time. Website expected to be available in the next few months, limited access may be initiated soon.

Dr. Weiner/Dean Dantes –  Meeting with students regarding Tuition and university expenditures. Striving for “Mission-based” allocation, such as for research, specific education initiatives. Currently taking a more detailed view of how faculty spend their time teaching; such as with rounding, one-on-one interaction, lecture, and so on.

Student questions for OSA:

Will we get a new advisor soon? Dean Kashima – Mid-March may expect a lifting of the hiring freeze to allow a new advisor to be brought on.

Status of Electronic Records? Susan Huhndorf - Electronic OSA records – for compliance/records.

Student’s records are regularly audited to identify those that need to update their file.  Documentation will eventually been migrated to the university’s Oracle database to allow central access for all information. Students will then be able to self-monitor requirements. Still working with IT regarding when to anticipate the new system
