Issues presented at the latest dwd include:

An update on the Pilsen free clinic.  Students presented survey results noting the big impact the clinic has not only as a healthcare provider but also as a learning experience.  The deans provided information regarding the decision to close the clinic citing a 250,000 dollar loss yearly.  The hospital hopes that patients of the clinic can be shifted to receiving their care at UIH.

A follow-up presentation was given regarding international rotations and the lack of OSA administrative support.  International rotations continue to be popular at UIC, and we have been facilitating a very high number of international rotations every year.  Future work on this project includes setting up a meeting with UGME and OSA to continue a dialogue.

UIC police came to address issues of student safety and parking.  Currently UIC does not offer parking to students on rotation.  Also, in order to enter the hospital after hours, students must enter through the emergency department.  Currently CMSC is working with Dean Lantz to gain card swipe access to UIH.

The students were updated on the LCME reaccreditation process the next phase will begin when the review team from LCME comes to UIC.

The UIC health sciences library gave a talk regarding library services.  Students are encouraged to give feedback to the library regarding hours around finals, so they can better serve our needs.
