Webmaster
The webmaster is responsible for developing a website to reflect and promote the image and goals of the Chicago Medical Student Council (CMSC). Since the student council is the representative organization of the student body, the ultimate aim is to make the site a first stop for students looking for information pertaining to their lives as students at the UIC-COM. For this, the webmaster must take the initiative to add to and modulate the site to meet the needs of students. In addition, posting the minutes to the site prior to the next CMSC general body meeting is vital. This allows members of the council and the student body to have an opportunity to review the minutes before the motion to pass them, in the subsequent CMSC meeting, is made. Time commitment averages about an hour a week. Attention to detail is essential. No prior web hosting experience and no knowledge of HTML are needed, but you will learn a few things ( i.e. tags) to make your job more dynamic and fun.
